About the Retreat

About the Wellness Retreat

Our wellness retreat in Sri Lanka is a health-focused week that brings movement, rest, nature and nourishing food together into one balanced experience. It isn't about pushing harder or achieving more, more about finding the space between constantly doing more and completely switching off. We are talking about balance: a week to move your body, challenge yourself in a supportive way, rest deeply, and reconnect with yourself and with nature.

Each day has a natural rhythm. Our mornings are guided by Synergy Vinyasa, weaving together mindful movement and strength. Evenings slow right down with restorative practice, giving the body time to settle. Around the practice there's space to swim, walk, read by the pool and explore Sri Lanka's south coast.

You'll leave with more than rest. Alongside meaningful yoga, time in nature and simple practices you can take home, you'll learn how to navigate everyday stress with more ease, resilience, and presence. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or simply ready to reconnect, this is your space to reset.

Why Here

Why a Wellness Retreat in Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka is one of the world's great settings for a wellness retreat. We call it therapy you can't find anywhere else: slow living through island time, nature that resets your nervous system with warmth and surrounded by endless greens, and genuine local hospitality. Our campus sits on the shores of Koggala Lake on the island's south coast, a short drive from Galle, the surf beaches of Ahangama and Weligama, and the tea hills inland. If you want to explore beyond the campus, our guide to the best things to do in Sri Lanka maps out the highlights, region by region.

A wellness retreat here means everything in one place: daily yoga and breathwork, three fresh vegan meals a day, nature on your doorstep, and time to swim, walk and do nothing at all. What sets our Wellness Retreat apart from a typical spa or Ayurveda retreat is the focus on the nervous system: practical, science-based tools you take home, not just a week of pampering.

Why the Wellness Retreat

A Different Kind of Wellness Retreat

Most wellness retreats in Sri Lanka fall into one of two camps: the luxury spa escape, or the traditional Ayurveda cure. Ours is neither. We built it around the one thing that really shifts how you feel from day to day: your nervous system. So rather than a week of pampering that wears off the moment you get home, you leave with simple, science-based tools for stress, sleep and everyday calm that keep working.

It's a good fit if you're:

  • Wired, overwhelmed or quietly burnt out, and ready for a proper reset
  • Looking for more than a spa week; you want to move, learn and feel properly better
  • New to yoga or years into it; every practice adapts to your level
  • Travelling solo; small groups and shared tables make it easy to connect

Mindful Movement

Gentle, flowing movements inspired by Qi Gong, with mindful exploration of the joints and spine. The movement encourages ease and regulation, supporting circulation and helping to calm the nervous system.

Asana & Vinyasa Flow

Mindful movement combined with an understanding of how the body works. Smooth, efficient transitions with a focus on alignment, joint mobility and body awareness, clear, purposeful, and adaptable for all levels.

Restorative Practice

Drawing from yin and restorative traditions. Using props and longer-held, floor-based postures, we gently release tension and calm the nervous system, a time to turn inward, explore stillness and let the body settle.

Time to Simply Be

Mindfulness practices, guided attention, body scans and mindful observation, that calm the nervous system, release tension and improve focus, supporting stress regulation and a sense of calm in body and mind.

Silence & Journaling

Mornings start with silence, giving you space to wake up fully before the day begins. Journaling then helps you tune into your thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations, bringing clarity to the mind and helping you feel more present.

Movement, Rest & Reconnection

We're Katerina and Lea, and between us we've come to believe that real change doesn't come from pushing harder, it comes from learning how to move well, rest properly, and actually listen to what your body is telling you.

Our approach blends the two sides of practice we love most: dynamic, intelligent movement in the form of Synergy Vinyasa to build strength, mobility and energy, and slower, restorative work to help the nervous system settle. We think a good retreat should challenge you and let you rest, in equal measure.

More than anything, we want you to leave feeling reconnected, to your body, to nature, and to a calmer, more grounded version of yourself, with practical tools you can carry home for the busier days.

Retreat Yourself

Retreat Yourself

You don't need to fly across the world to become a different person. Sometimes you just need a week where someone else cooks the meals, your phone stays in your room, and your biggest decision is whether to spend the afternoon by the pool or at the beach.

Our Wellness Retreat offers exactly that: a little more space, a little more quiet, and the chance to return to everyday life feeling rested rather than exhausted.

Lanka Yoga is bliss! The vegan food is amazing thanks to Jeevan and his team. The manager, Chaminda, couldn't have been more helpful organising tours, transport and cultural activities. We had a beautiful room looking over Lake Koggala — stunning morning sunrises were the norm. A little slice of heaven.

Incredible yoga retreat venue in Sri Lanka. Stefan, Dush and the team were exceptional. Every request was met with ease and joy. The food was incredible — you'd never tell it was fully vegan. The shala was beautiful with amazing views for morning practice. We will definitely be back.

Exceptional, inspiring and caring teachers, the perfect yoga, breathtaking sunrises, an ideal location. Everything is designed to refocus on what's essential. For those still hesitant: go for it without thinking — life is too short to deprive yourself of such an experience.

I couldn't recommend Jess's yoga teacher training enough! She brought the most amazing physical practice together with a truly inspiring spiritual and philosophical journey. Her knowledge is immense and her warmth builds connection immediately.
Fliss · Google review
The course was truly transformational. My biggest takeaway was how I can make Yoga personal — how I can integrate the teachings into my life. The depth of experience went beyond every expectation.
Milli · Google review
I loved my training here. They bring a rare passion for yoga — from the physical practice to the theory and philosophy behind it — and the knowledge runs deep. They genuinely care about every student.

FAQ

FAQs about the Wellness Retreat

Who is this retreat for?

Anyone who needs to slow down, reconnect and step out of everyday life for a week. You don't need any yoga experience to join.

Do I need to be flexible or experienced in yoga?

Not at all. Every class adapts to the room, so it works whether this is your first week of yoga or your tenth year.

What is included?

Your room, all the daily practices, three vegan meals a day and full use of the facilities. On top of that you get a cooking class, an Ayurvedic massage and a boat tour on the lake.

Can I come alone?

Yes, and plenty of people do. The group is small and meals are shared, so it's easy to fall in with everyone within a day or two.

What is a wellness retreat?

A wellness retreat is a health-focused break that brings movement, rest, good food and time in nature into one week, so you go home feeling better in body and mind. Our Wellness Retreat is our version in Sri Lanka, built specifically around calming the nervous system.

Where in Sri Lanka is the wellness retreat held?

On the shores of Koggala Lake on Sri Lanka's south coast, near Galle. It's a calm, natural spot at our purpose-built Lanka Yoga campus, with beaches, surf and Galle Fort all close by.

When does the wellness retreat run?

Our next Wellness Retreat runs 13–19 December 2026. If that doesn't work for you, get in touch and we'll tell you when the next dates open.

What's the best wellness retreat in Sri Lanka?

That depends on what you're after. For traditional Ayurveda or pure spa luxury, Sri Lanka has plenty of great options. If you want a modern, science-based reset instead, with daily yoga and breathwork, good food and real tools for stress and sleep rather than a week of pampering, that's what we built our Wellness Retreat for. Compare each retreat's focus, daily rhythm and reviews, and pick the one that fits what you actually need.

How much does a wellness retreat in Sri Lanka cost?

It ranges a lot, from budget guesthouse retreats to high-end resorts that run into several thousand euros a week. Our Wellness Retreat starts at €900 per person for six nights in a shared room, all-inclusive: your room, three vegan meals a day, every session, plus a cooking class, an Ayurvedic massage and a boat tour on the lake.

When is the best time for a wellness retreat in Sri Lanka?

The south coast, where we are, is warm all year and most reliably sunny from around December to March, with wetter spells between May and September. Since most of the retreat happens in the shala and on campus, any time of year works, and our December dates land right in the sunniest stretch.
