Lanka Yoga Retreat, Yoga Teacher Training & Education Events

Deposit

Upon application, we require a non-refundable but transferable deposit to hold your spot. The deposit needs to be paid within 72 hours of inquiry, otherwise the booking will be deleted automatically. If that happens you are welcome to inquire again if the spot is still available. The deposit is non-refundable but transferable to any other event. You are free to adjust the date as many times as needed within reason.

Remaining Payments

Full payment is due a minimum of 60 days prior to the commencement date. If you apply less than 60 days prior, specific arrangements will be made to have the full fee paid prior to the start of the training.

If the balance is not received by the required due date, your place may be offered to someone on the waiting list, and you will forfeit the deposit paid. The price is the exact amount to be received by us, irrespective of currency fluctuations or third-party transfer charges. If paying by electronic transfer, please instruct your bank to charge all costs to you to avoid a shortfall.

Refund and Cancellation

If cancellation is made 30 days or less before the start of the event or your stay, we will retain the full amount. However, if another person can be found to take your place, we may offer you a partial refund at our discretion.

Once the event has begun, no refund or part refund, or unused portion of the event, will be repaid in the event of cancellation by you. Bookings are for the stated period of the event.

In the unlikely circumstance that Lanka Yoga has to cancel the training, we will refund the full amount paid up to that date. Lanka Yoga will NOT refund any other costs including but not limited to flights, transfers or transfer flights, or any other costs incurred. Students must purchase travel insurance to cover any situation that may arise, such as illness, change of ticket dates, family emergency, acts of God, war, or closure of airports.

Venue Hire

Deposit

To secure the requested dates for your event at Lanka Yoga, a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of 30% of the total payment is required within 72 hours of the inquiry. If not paid within 72 hours, the booking will be deleted automatically. Date changes may be requested but are limited to availability and proximity of event commencement.

Full Payment for Venue Hires

The remaining balance must be settled 90 days prior to the commencement of the event.

• Full payment required 90 days before event commencement
• 70% refund of the remaining balance for cancellation between 90 and 30 days before the event (deposit non-refundable)
• 30 days or less prior to the event, no refunds will be issued

In circumstances where a replacement reservation for the same date is secured, a more lenient refund may be entertained at the sole discretion of Lanka Yoga.

Further Refund and Cancellation Policies

If cancellation is made 90 days or less before the start of the event, the cancellation conditions above apply. Once the event has begun, no refund or part refund will be repaid. In the unlikely circumstance that Lanka Yoga has to cancel the event, we will refund the full amount paid up to that date.

Liability and Insurance: We trust you'll take care of our space, but please note the client is responsible for any damage to the venue or its contents. The client should also obtain travel insurance for the event.

Governing Law: Your contract is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, and any legal action arising from this contract shall be brought in the courts of Sri Lanka.

Note

If refunds are required, Lanka Yoga requests that you contact your travel insurance company in the first instance to claim what is available. We will then pay any remaining refund amount in accordance with our policy above.

Lanka Yoga does not accept any responsibility or liability for cancellations, delays, changes, or losses caused by acts of God, war, the threat of war, closure of airports, civil strife, natural disasters, accidents, or any other events beyond our control. The same waiving of liabilities applies to students' injuries, illnesses, medical or psychiatric conditions.

Your Health

If you have a medical condition, serious or otherwise, you MUST inform Lanka Yoga at the time of booking and provide a letter from your GP confirming that it is safe for you to attend a yoga teacher training or retreat with our advertised diet, yoga classes and other physical activities. In the interests of your wellbeing we may decline your stay at the retreat. If an emergency arises we will do everything in our power to assist you, but Lanka Yoga is not responsible for the outcome of any such emergency.

Pregnancy

Unless you have been a regular yoga practitioner for several years it is not advisable to practice yoga during the first trimester, particularly if there is any history of miscarriage. During the remainder of pregnancy it is more suitable to attend pregnancy yoga classes. If you have been a regular practitioner for several years and have a letter from your doctor confirming it is safe, you may attend during your second and third trimester. Guidance from our yoga teacher must be observed.

Amendments by Lanka Yoga

Occasionally, changes may have to be made (e.g. yoga teacher, class times or other arrangements), which we reserve the right to do at any time. If your accommodation has to be changed, we will do our utmost to provide accommodation of a similar rating. Any promotions and discounts offered on retreats at a later date than your booking will not be applicable to the price you have agreed to pay.
