I couldn't recommend Jess's yoga teacher training enough! She brought the most amazing physical practice together with a truly inspiring spiritual and philosophical journey. Her knowledge is immense and her warmth builds connection immediately.
The course was truly transformational. My biggest takeaway was how I can make Yoga personal — how I can integrate the teachings into my life. The depth of experience went beyond every expectation.
I loved my training here. They bring a rare passion for yoga — from the physical practice to the theory and philosophy behind it — and the knowledge runs deep. They genuinely care about every student.
Many yoga teacher trainings focus heavily on certification. We focus on education. Our goal isn't simply to help you complete a teacher training, it's to help you become a capable, thoughtful and confident yoga teacher.
Lanka Yoga is a purpose-built school on the shores of Koggala Lake, created to teach yoga properly in a place that lets you fully switch off. We would rather run small, considered trainings than fill a big room, and we measure success by the kind of teacher you become, not the certificate you leave with. Since 2021, over 400 people have completed a training with us, and many now teach full-time, run studios, or lead their own retreats and trainings around the world.

Our trainings are led by respected teachers who bring years of practical experience, modern perspectives and a commitment to quality education.
Open-air shala overlooking the lake. Accommodation, kitchen and pool are all on one site. No commute, no wasted time.
Three vegan meals a day, prepared on-site with produce from our own vegetable garden.
People arrive from different countries and backgrounds. Shared meals, meaningful conversations and unexpected friendships are part of the experience.
You don't need to touch your toes, hold a headstand, or have practised for a decade. What matters far more is genuine curiosity about yoga and a willingness to commit fully for the few weeks you're here. Our trainings are built for:
Not sure whether it's the right time? Tell us where you are in your practice and we'll give you an honest answer, not a hard sell.

Sri Lanka has quietly become one of the world's most rewarding places to train as a yoga teacher, the natural beauty and spiritual depth you'd look for in Bali or India, but with far fewer crowds and outstanding value. For a month of immersive study, few settings come close.
It's why students travel from across Europe, North America and Australia to complete their Vinyasa, Hatha or Yin & Restorative teacher training with us.
The training lasts a few weeks. What comes next lasts a lot longer. Every graduate joins our private teaching community, where you can ask questions, share wins and stay connected to the people you trained alongside long after you've flown home.
We also help you take your first real steps as a teacher: honest feedback while you're here, guidance on finding work and teaching online, and a network of graduates now teaching in studios, running retreats and leading their own trainings around the world.

Yes, though some prior experience helps. We recommend at least six months of regular practice before joining a 200-hour training. Many students come primarily to deepen their own practice rather than to teach, and that's completely fine.
