About the Course

About the Course — Asana Sadhana Dharma

We're Aaron and Paige, and we know how powerful it can be to step away from the demands of everyday life and fully immerse yourself in Yoga.

That's why we created Asana Sadhana Dharma — an immersive 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Sri Lanka. Whether you aspire to teach or simply want to deepen your understanding, this training offers the space to explore the practice beyond the physical postures.

Over 21 transformative days you'll study traditional Hatha Yoga — asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, mudra, and kriya — alongside Yoga philosophy, subtle anatomy, and teaching methodology. More than a certification, it's a transformative experience that can change the way you live, practice, and share Yoga.

Pranayama

A thorough exploration of classical breath practices — Nadi Shodhana, Kapalabhati, Ujjayi, Bhramari and more — with direct application to asana and daily practice.

Mantra, Mudra & Kriya

Traditional Hatha techniques often left out of modern teacher trainings. Taught with their philosophical context and practical application intact.

Yoga Philosophy

Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the eight limbs, and the philosophical frameworks that underpin classical Hatha — explored with depth and relevance.

Anatomy & Teaching Methodology

Functional anatomy applied to safe asana practice. Sequencing principles, cueing skills, and hands-on adjustments. Daily teaching practicum with peer feedback from week two.

FAQ

FAQs

What is Hatha Yoga?

Hatha focuses on balancing body, breath and mind through asana, pranayama, meditation, mudra and cleansing techniques. It provides the foundation for many modern styles of yoga.

Do I need experience to join?

We recommend at least 6 months of regular practice. The key is a genuine willingness to commit fully for three weeks.

Is this Yoga Alliance certified?

Yes. Om Som and Lanka Yoga are both Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Schools. On graduation you receive your RYT-200 certificate.

What if I have dietary requirements?

All meals are vegan, with a gluten-free option at every meal. Other dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.

What's the difference between Hatha and Vinyasa training?

Hatha is slower, more internal, rooted in traditional practice with emphasis on subtle body anatomy. Vinyasa is more movement-based with emphasis on functional anatomy and modern movement science. Neither is better — they suit different practitioners.

How do I get to Lanka Yoga?

Fly into Colombo CMB. 2.5-hour drive south. Airport transfers €85.
