yoga – nature – food – relaxation
Sri Lanka is open for travel & yoga
If you’ve been fully vaccinated all you need is a negative test 72hours prior to arrival and you’re in. If you haven’t, you’ll need to spend two weeks at one of the many level one hotels. Learn more about the new regulations on the official government website here.
Our retreat is an all-inclusive, live-in, one-night, two-days escape into nature, held at our new venue Lanka Yoga on Koggala Lake. Learn and practice yoga, nourish your body with healthy plant-based food, and tune into deep conversations as you come together with like-minded friends in our little paradise.
Our objective is to deepen and progress your yoga practice while allowing time to relax, reconnect with yourself, and explore this magical island. So join this escape into nature and start 2022 with ease and joy.
Only available 17 JAN – 5 FEB 2022
about the retreat
Each day starts with an energising 1.5 hour Yoga Synergy practice. After breakfast, you have the option to join our group activities, including surfing, excursions to the beach or a boat tour. Alternatively, you can stay at Lanka Yoga to enjoy the garden, relax at the pool, or treat yourself to a massage.
The yoga program is based on the principles of Yoga Synergy
Yoga Synergy is a practice founded on traditional yoga but approached with a modern understanding of human physiology and anatomy. Influenced by the forgotten yoga’s of China and Japan, this practice focuses on the how and why of movement and flowing practices which look a lot like Qi Gong. Find more details about the yoga and the teachers in our info pack here.
The food is all vegan – all delicious
The all-vegan food is prepared by our chef, Mangala. Much of the spices and veggies come from Lanka Yoga’s garden.
The food is refreshingly varied, with unique dishes served every day.
Massages are available with our Ayurvedic specialist, or our friend Franco, for the entirety of the retreat. Franco’s profound way of working with the body and emotion complements the approach to yoga and offers an opportunity to further grow in this experience. Learn more about Franco here.

How do I get from the airport to Lanka Yoga during Covid?
If you’re fully vaccinated, you’ll only need to spend one day at a level one hotel to get your PCR and test negative. More information here.
You can stay at a level one hotel anywhere on the island, but of course its easiest to stay in Colombo, or near to us. We can help you find transport from the airport, and then from the level one hotel to Lanka Yoga the next day.
What travel documents do I need?
You’ll need a passport valid for a least six months after your planned departure date. You’ll also need your vaccine documentation if relevant. You’ll need to apply for a Sri Lankan visa before you fly as well.
In the event that the retreat needs to be postponed due to restrictions or outcomes of Covid-19 your place will be secured at a future retreat of your choosing.
Your deposit will not be refundable but rather transferable in this situation.
The Lanka Yoga team advises you to book flights only once you have insurance that will cover a postponement.
Due to the volatility of current events, changes may have to be made to details of the retreat like specifics of teachers. We reserve the right to do at any time. If accommodation has to be changed, we will do our utmost to provide accommodation of a similar or higher rating. If a significant change becomes necessary, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible.
